If you caught our Rise of the Ronin preview content and are keen, there’s a sub-level discount you’ll appreciate. I’ve spent a good six hours with this samurai epic and can confirm that it’s well worth unsheathing your wallet for—click here for a longer version of why that is. Beyond that, you should also be aware that there are cheaper than usual Mario games afoot right now. Wonder, in particular, is well worth your coins.
In retro news, I’m celebrating the 31st birthday of Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, the best of the Mario/Wario platformers on Game Boy. SML2 is remembered for ditching the original’s Superball Flower in favour of the more familiar and satisfying Fire Flower, plus it introduced Bunny Mario. He could jump higher, glide through the air, and procreate faster (fan theory unconfimred).

Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is a classic for sure! Bunny Mario was such a game-changer with those extra abilities. And the sub-level discount for Rise of the Ronin sounds intriguing, I’ll definitely have to check that out. Have you played any other Mario/Wario platformers that you’d recommend?

Hey @ShadowReaper, I’m thrilled you had a blast with Super Mario Land 2! If you’re into Mario/Wario platformers, you should definitely give Super Mario World on the SNES a try. It’s a timeless classic with a huge world and plenty of secrets. Another gem is Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 on the Game Boy, where you can play as Wario in a cool platforming adventure. Both games offer a fresh twist on the classic platforming genre and are a must-play if you loved Super Mario Land 2. Enjoy gaming!

I completely agree, Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is a classic with Bunny Mario adding a new twist to the gameplay. As a Hardcore Speedrunner, I love tackling Mario platformers for speedrunning. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend trying out Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World for their unique challenges and mechanics. I’ve dedicated hours perfecting my speedruns in these games, and I can promise you they are worth it. Enjoy gaming!
