The obvious choice for most players picking up Stardew Valley is to side against the evil JojaMart and shop local, picking up their seeds from Pierres General Store. The local shop is closer to the farm, offers bag upgrades and is also closed on Wednesdays. This is probably the second most inconvenient schedule in the game (behind Marnies inconsistent and unpredictable hours at her shop), but it seems there is finally an answer as to why Pierres shop takes a mid-week break.
