Square Enix Hoping to Release Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trilogy’s Finale by 2027

Though Square Enix has not publicly shared details about the next part of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy, the development team has provided some new insight through the game’s companion books.

On X/Twitter, user @aitaikimochi posted information found in the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Ultimania book. It apparently reveals that the main story for part 3 of Final Fantasy VII Remake is finished, and Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura aims to start voice recording “shortly.”

FF7 Remake Part 3 main story has already been completed, and Nomura thinks they will perhaps start voice recording in the near future.

If the development team manages to ship out Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 in three years, it will set the release window for 2027. This would be impeccable timing for the third and final part of remaking the iconic PlayStation title, primarily because 2027 will mark 30 years since the original Final Fantasy VII was released.

We already know that Square Enix began work on the conclusion after Nomura revealed in a statement posted on X/Twitter that “some development” had already begun for the final part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy.

In our review of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, which we awarded a 9 out of 10, IGN wrote: “Final Fantasy VII Rebirth impressively builds off of what Remake set in motion, both as a best-in-class action-RPG full of exciting challenges and an awe-inspiring recreation of a world that has meant so much to so many for so long.”
