Players will be able to enable proximity chat in Fortnite‘s Creative game mode soon. In the early days, Fortnite was exclusively a PvE game through Save the World, though things wouldn’t really take off until the Battle Royale game mode arrived a few months later. As the game’s popularity increased, Epic Games decided to explore more options with Fortnite. The Playground game mode was a hit, as it allowed fans to create their matches with a small group of friends and customize certain features, such as fall damage and friendly fire, in order to have fun on Athena island, the OG Fortnite map.
