It has become normal in modern gaming to give players multiple options for controlling a game’s performance, including raising or lowering frame rate in order to get smoother gameplay at the cost of some downgraded visuals. However, not all new games feature this option.
That includes upcoming action RPG Avowed from Obsidian Entertainment. Several of the developers spoke to the Iron Lords Podcast about the game in great detail and what players can expect. When asked about the game’s console performance, the developers confirmed they are targeting 30 FPS at the bare minimum. The reason for this is because they wanted to focus more on visuals, stating that “you don’t necessarily need that 60 frames” when playing a single-player action game.
