Riot Games is dropping its latest patch notes in preparation for League of Legends‘ season two launch. There are a few changes aimed at disrupting the metagame that you’ll want to know if you’re looking to climb the game’s ranked ladder.
There’s also a handful of gorgeous skins on the horizon that you’ll want to spend your hard-earned cash on if you’re a fan of any of these characters, as well as a few system changes. So let’s break down Patch 25.08.

SR Ranked season one will end on April 29 at midnight, regional local time, which is the last day of Patch 25.08. Ranked progression will not reset with the start of season two (Patch 25.09), but the Ranked Reward Mission will be refreshed.
You also only have a little while to complete the Victorious Twisted Fate missions, which asks you to win 15 ranked games before the season ends. The ranked rewards will then appear in your inventory sometime during Patch 25.09.
This is a quick summary of the main changes made to each change in the patch. For more in-depth looks on the specific numbers, you can check them out here. The ARAM and Arena changes will also be included in the link for those looking for those specific game modes.

Cryptbloom has fallen completely behind Void Staff for mages. As a result, Riot are delivering a light buff to Cryptbloom that should help to keep it distinct based on what you’re looking for.
The slow resistance stat on Dead Man’s Plate has been too effective at covering a few champion’s core weaknesses lately and Riot feels like this is a good time to reduce the potency of the slow resistance.
Opportunity has dropped in popularity over time and could use a buff to make it a more competitive option in the Lethality item space. Additionally, Riot are lowering the passive Lethality gain on the ranged split so ranged users don’t benefit quite as much from the base stat buffs as melee users do.
Riot are looking to buff it into a position where it’s clearly better than some other items for heavier fighters.
