How to hire a specialist in Fortnite

Fortnite’s specialists are occasionally life-saving, giving you that little bit of extra firepower you need to turn the tides of a stalemate or catch someone persistently running away. For the most part, you and other players will outperform them, but they’re still worth having for weekly quests.

There’s a lot that determines a specialist’s effectiveness, though. While some focus on healing, others give you extra ammo and building materials. Here’s everything you need to know about specialists in Fortnite, including their locations and how to hire them.

Hiring specialists in Fortnite involves visiting any NPC that appears with a square dialogue icon on your map. As you land or travel to a landmark, you’ll notice these appear, indicating someone is nearby to hire or purchase weapons from.

All specialist locations in Fortnite

Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2 has four specialists in the following locations:

NPC Name
Specialist Type
Location
The Night Rose
Supply Specialist
Demon’s Dojo
Kendo
Scout Specialist
Shogun’s Solitude
Jade
Medic Specialist
Rolling Blossoms Farm (north of Hopeful Heights)

Nonetheless, this price isn’t too bad if you only hire them occasionally for quests or to help in combat. If you recruit them during every round, these costs will add up, so pick up as much gold as possible from eliminations, chest loot, and bank vaults.

If you arrive at one of these locations and can’t find its specialist, it’s most likely because someone already hired them. Only one person can hire each specialist per round, so you’ll need to get there quickly in case someone beats you to it. The earlier you arrive at Demon’s Dojo, Shogun’s Solitude, or Rolling Blossoms Farm, the better.
