If you love turn-based RPGs but also crave a little real-time action, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is shaping up to be perfect for you. The surrealist adventure takes active combat prompts to their logical extreme, and in doing so opens up the potential for you to tackle its threats at levels far beyond what might ordinarily be possible – if you’re good enough. I sat down to preview the upcoming RPG at Gamescom 2024, and I’m pleased to report that it’s certainly bringing the style.
