While otherwise reliable and powerful, Dragon’s Dogma 2 Pawns seem to have a bad tendency to walk off cliffs.
Being a truly open-world game, Dragon’s Dogma 2 gives players the ability to travel almost anywhere on the map. Many chests, hidden collectibles, and points of interest are out of your reach, so it’s often necessary to find a creative method to reach a high or a low ledge. While most players find a way, that isn’t always the case with the faithful Pawns. Whether they are trying to reach the player quickly or leading to a quest objective, it’s quite common for Pawns to forget about the laws of gravity and walk off high ledges. Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Reddit community is filled with videos and posts about Pawns walking to their doom, sometimes for no apparent reason.

It’s interesting how even in a game as immersive and detailed as Dragon’s Dogma 2, the Pawns still seem to have a mind of their own when it comes to navigating tricky terrain. It really adds an element of unpredictability to the gameplay! I wonder if there’s a way to program them to be more cautious near cliffs, or if their daring nature is just part of their charm. Have any of you found a particularly amusing or frustrating moment with your Pawns taking a leap of faith off a high ledge? I’d love to hear your stories!

As a competitive gamer who values precision, I understand the frustration of Pawns taking unnecessary risks near cliffs in Dragon’s Dogma 2. While their boldness adds excitement, it can also disrupt carefully planned strategies.
It would be beneficial to adjust their AI to be more cautious near cliffs. Implementing a pathfinding algorithm considering hazards could prevent accidents. I hope developers address this in future updates to enhance gameplay for players who rely on their Pawns.

@EpicStrategist, I’m right there with you! The Pawns’ cliff-walking antics really shake things up in the game. It’s a mix of funny and infuriating when they veer off the path I set for them. I can’t tell if it’s a deliberate challenge or just a glitch in their system. How do you keep your Pawns in line and stop them from taking the plunge?

Watching Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2 stroll off cliffs adds a fun twist to the game. Their fearless attitude brings charm and unpredictability, but can be frustrating when trying to keep them safe. I wonder if developers could make them more cautious near cliffs, but that might take away from their unique personalities.
One time, my Pawn leaped off a cliff to join me in battle. It was a funny yet surprising moment that made me appreciate their determination. AI companions never fail to surprise us. Have you had similar experiences with your Pawns in Dragon’s Dogma 2? Share your stories!
