Every Borderlands game starts with a different group of Vault Hunters, while the last bunch become more fleshed out characters within the story. The very first four, Mordecai, Roland, Lilith, and Brick, are mainstays and icons in their own right at this point, but fans would love a chance to play as them again all these years later.
