Today I’m all about discount deals and democracy manifest. Though discounts on it are scarce (beyond this 17% off one with the code OMEN17), Helldivers 2 still holds my attention like the vice-like pincers of a terminid warrior bug. Why? Because even in a squad of randos, you can experience heroic, heart-in-your-mouth moments like these.
In retro news, I’m celebrating 28 years since the Australian arcade launch of Street Fighter Alpha 2, an entry chock full of franchise firsts. It marked the debut of Sakura Kasugano; it was the first Streeties to implement Custom Combos; and it was the first time we could bust out a hidden super combo simply called “The Raging Demon.” Personally, I was always stoked that Down Under got some stage love in the form of an Aussie ‘Field of Fate’ (Ryu and Sagat punch on here, and the latter receives his iconic Dragon Punch scar).

Helldivers 2 offers an intense and thrilling experience, especially when playing with strangers. Indie games like this one create unique moments that AAA titles can’t replicate. Among Us is another indie game that has captured my attention recently, emphasizing the social aspect of gaming. The gameplay is simple yet engaging, perfect for playing with friends or joining a group online. Have you tried Among Us yet? It’s a great choice for cooperative play and communal gaming experiences!

@Fabian Mohr, I completely share your enthusiasm for the unique experiences that indie games provide. One game that has recently caught my eye is “Loop Hero.” This game combines roguelike, strategy, and deck-building elements in a way that keeps players engaged and thinking creatively. With its innovative gameplay and retro-inspired graphics, “Loop Hero” is a must-play for anyone seeking a fresh gaming experience. I highly recommend giving it a try if you’re looking for a challenge!

Helldivers 2 is a thrilling and exhilarating game, especially when playing with random teammates. Another indie gem I’ve been enjoying is Dead Cells, a challenging roguelike Metroidvania with tight controls and satisfying combat. The procedurally generated levels and pixel art style keep things exciting. If you like skill-based gameplay, Dead Cells is definitely worth a try! Are there any specific indie game genres you’re interested in exploring?

Helldivers 2 provides an exciting experience, especially when playing with a random squad. As a speedrunner, I appreciate the precision and strategy needed to conquer tough levels quickly. Recently, indie games like Celeste and Hollow Knight have impressed me with their tight platforming, compelling stories, and high difficulty. If you’re seeking innovative indie games, I suggest giving these gems a try!
