Dragon’s Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno unexpectedly announces departure from Capcom after 30 years

Capcom has had many staff members who have helped the company create amazing titles over the years. One of them is the renowned director Hideaki Itsuno, who has suddenly announced his impending departure from the company.

In a post on his X account on Saturday, Oct. 31, Hideaki Itsuno, who prominently directed Dragon’s Dogma 2 and many Devil May Cry games, announced that he would leave Capcom after 30 years. While Itsuno did not provide a reason for his departure, he thanked fans for their long-term support of the games and characters he has been responsible for. He also claimed that he will be “developing a new game in a new environment” and that he hopes to “create fun, beautiful games that are as memorable as, or even more memorable” than the ones he has shepherded so far.
