Marriage (and children) are far from permanent fixtures in a Stardew Valley playthrough, but they’re arguably still an important part of a player’s first run through the title. The first time I played the farming simulator, I weighed my options for romance partners but ultimately decided on Emily. My farmer fell for her crystal-girl energy and positive outlook. As part of my new life with my in-game spouse, Emily moves in and everything is going wonderfully. We talk about having kids (but don’t rush into anything), and occasionally, she gives me a hand with some of the things around the farm.
