Similar to character levels in The First Descendant, every weapon you use has a Proficiency Level you can improve through repeated use. Taking down enemies with a particular weapon will cause your expertise with it to grow as you complete various missions. This will eventually give you access to more upgrades for your favorite weapons alongside other improvements.
