Deviants are companion creatures you can summon in Once Human, with the Butterfly being one of the first you befriend during the game’s tutorial. Successfully pairing with this alien being will let you call upon it in battle to protect your character and attack enemies. However, with very little instruction provided, it can be hard to determine what you need to do to summon the Butterfly early in your adventures.
