Attention Sonic fans! This year is already shaping up to be fantastic for us, with the highly anticipated release of Sonic X Shadow Generations later this year and Sonic The Hedgehog 3 hitting theaters in December. But the excitement doesn’t stop there: Prime Day is over, but there are some top deals on several great Sonic games from recent years that are still live.
I’ve gathered all the best remaining Prime Day deals on Sonic games right here, and a few bonus offers you will want to take advantage of. Remember, you’ll need to be a Prime member to secure these offers, so consider picking up a 30-day free trial before the end of the sale at midnight tonight. Don’t be too slow and miss out on these top offers. Here’s every Sonic game on sale for Prime Day.
Sonic Superstars is the most recent gaming entry to the longstanding franchise and the most recent of the 2D platforming Sonic games. It’s received a pretty sizable discount for Prime Day, down to $22.99 for Switch and $17.99 for PS5 and Xbox. That’s $37 off the list price and a 62% saving overall. Jada Griffin gave the game a 7/10 in her IGN review: “Sonic Superstars has a mix of both interesting and ill-advised new ideas, making it an enjoyable Sonic game but not exactly a Super one.”
I’ve got some incredibly fond memories of Sonic Frontiers. It felt like a step in the right direction for 3D Sonic fans, and I’m hoping any follow-ups can nail the story and gameplay a little bit more. As always, the music was sensational and I enjoyed replaying the Cyber Space levels endlessly – especially ‘1-2’ which was some of the best speedrunning challenges we’ve had in the game in a long time.
In IGN’s 7/10 review, Travis Northup wrote that “Sonic Frontiers is an ambitious open-world adventure that mostly succeeds at mixing up the Sonic formula, even when some of its ideas fall flat.” It’s down to $19.99 for PS4, PS5, and Xbox, or $24.99 on Switch. Don’t be a fake hedgehog – consider picking it up at this price.
Sonic Origins brings together the first four classic Sonic games from the Sega Genesis and Sega CD remastered for modern consoles. This collection is perfect for veteran fans looking to relive their nostalgia and young fans eager to explore Sonic’s history. The physical edition also includes a 20-page art book and a reversible Sega Genesis cover that is perfection. Prime members can currently buy Sonic Origins Plus for $19.99 for PS4, PS5, and Xbox, or $24.99 on Switch.
Of course, the speedy discounts don’t stop there. Sonic Mania + Team Sonic Racing Double Pack for Nintendo Switch is also part of the sale and is down to just $24.99 for a limited time. Sonic Colors Ultimate for Switch has also received a healthy price drop for Prime members, down to $24.99 from its $39.99 list price. Plus, if you’re looking for a different or more comfortable form factor on your Switch, the Sonic-themed HORI Split Pad Compact is also down to just $49.99 for Prime Day.
I’m feeling generous here so let’s also explore the Sonic the Hedgehog film and TV discounts on offer for Prime Day. There are a couple of big highlights here, including Sonic the Hedgehog 2-Movie 4K Collection with Limited Edition Steelbooks for $22.99 – a massive discount compared to its $51.99 list price. This is well worth considering before the third film hits theaters later this year.
Prime Day is a great opportunity to save some serious cash on your favorite hobbies, in my view. The annual summer sale features discounts on thousands of items, with new lightning deals every hour that you won’t want to miss.
As one of the biggest sales events outside of Black Friday, it attracts many companies, including those outside of Amazon, offering exclusive discounts available only on Prime Day. If you’re already a Prime member, you can access the sale without much bother. But, there’s also a free 30-day trial if you’re intrigued and just want to check out some of the new discounts.
Prime Day is absolutely one of the best times to buy physical video games and although you might not find discounts on major consoles during the sale, there are still plenty of deals to check out for Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
