The Asus ROG Ally X brings upgraded storage, longer battery life & more

At Computex 2024, Asus has unveiled a new model of their gaming handheld with the ROG Ally X.

The new ROG Ally X features the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme chip as the original but now comes with a 1TB SSD (up from 512GB) and 24GB of DDR5-7500 RAM.

One noticeable difference is that the ROG Ally X comes in a black colour, compared to the white colourway on the original ROG Ally.

The other ports on the ROG Ally X include an audio jack and a microSD card slot.

The battery in the ROG Ally X is now 80 Wh, which means it should last longer than before. To fit the new battery, Asus is using smaller fans that have 50% thinner blades to better improve airflow.

The ROG Ally X is running Windows 11 Home and comes with Armoury Crate SE 1.5.

The Asus ROG Ally X is available for pre-order now for $1,199 CAD from Best Buy. It’ll be available for pre-order from the Asus eShop later this month with deliveries in mid-July.
