Despite their apparent importance to the story being told in Elden Rings Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Messmer is most likely not the toughest boss in the additional content in fact, he may not even be the final encounter. Known as Messmer the Impaler, the opponent is being heavily featured as the big antagonist in the DLC. Messmer is featured in the key art for the expansion and is even being portrayed in a statue that comes in the Collectors Edition bundle with the release of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Messmer is known to be a tyrant.
