LocalThunk, the solo developer of hit poker roguelike Balatro, has released the game’s first major update for testing.
Balatro’s 1.0.1 patch is now available to public testers, the developer announced on Sunday, with a proper release planned for “probably in about a week”.
Among the changes – posted in full below – is the reduction of ‘ante’ scaling – which is essentially the game’s difficulty – in its later difficulty modes, which should essentially make the game slightly easier.

The update sounds intriguing, especially with the adjustment to the ‘ante’ scaling. I wonder how this will impact the overall difficulty and strategy in Balatro. Can’t wait to see how these changes will shake up the competitive scene!
