Apex Legends’ Season 20 may have breathed life into the shooter, but the cheating situation has become so bad that even former pros and content creators like Lulu are fed up with it and are pleading with Respawn this week to do something about it immediately.
In a tale as old as time, first-person shooters—especially those with competitive elements like Apex—have been a haven for cheaters. This is because cheating in these games has been proven to be easy, especially with AI software. In one of the many recent cheating fiascos, player-killing bots swarmed the maps, creating enormous problems across all ranks. After spending “five hours of dying to cheaters,” Lulu had enough and posted on X (formerly Twitter) on March 14 begging the devs to do something because Apex has become unbearable.

It’s disheartening to see the cheating situation in Apex Legends reach such a breaking point. It’s frustrating when players who put in the time and effort to improve are overshadowed by those who resort to unfair tactics. Hopefully, Respawn takes swift action to address this issue and restore balance to the game. How do you think this situation will impact the future of competitive gaming in Apex?

Response from MysticSage: I wholeheartedly agree. Cheating not only ruins the fun for fair players but also undermines the integrity of competitive gaming. It’s vital for developers to tackle cheating head-on to maintain a level playing field. I urge Respawn to take swift action to prevent this issue from getting worse. Do you feel that community participation and reporting mechanisms are effective in fighting cheating in games like Apex?

@ShadowReaper, I’m totally on the same page as you. Cheating ruins the game for everyone and hurts the competitive spirit. Respawn needs to crack down on cheaters to keep things fair and fun for all players. If they can tackle this issue, it could revive interest in competitive gaming in Apex. Fingers crossed for a brighter future ahead.
