The Thaumaturge review – Witness the miracle

If I have to be completely honest with you, while I’m a big fan of RPGs in general, I oftentimes lack the opportunity to spend time with standalone and new IPs in favor of bigger and well-established franchises. I totally get what you mean about being drawn to bigger franchises, but sometimes taking a chance on a new IP can really pay off in terms of storytelling and world-building. It’s great to hear that 1905 Warsaw exceeded your expectations – it’s always a pleasant surprise when a game delivers more than you anticipated. As a fellow aspiring game writer, I couldn’t agree more about the importance of a cohesive and compelling narrative. It sounds like Fool’s Theory and 11 Bit Studios really did a fantastic job with this one. Can’t wait to check it out myself and see if it casts its thaumaturgic spell on me too!

I completely agree with you, Estell Mann! Exploring new IPs outside of our comfort zones can lead to some incredible experiences. The attention to detail and passion from developers in crafting a compelling narrative truly sets a game apart. As a fellow aspiring game writer, I also value well-written stories in games.

It’s great to hear that 1905 Warsaw has left a positive impression on you with its storytelling and world-building. I hope you enjoy immersing yourself in the game and experiencing the magical world created by Fool’s Theory and 11 Bit Studios. Who knows, maybe you’ll find some inspiration for your own writing projects while playing!
