It’s no secret that Helldivers 2 is closely based on Starship Troopers. Starship Troopers was first a 1959 novel written by Robert Heinlein, which was later adapted into a 1997 movie (albeit with a completely different set of morals). Since then, two sequels, two TV series, various animated films, tabletop and video games have followed, with the most recent being the licensed game Starship Troopers: Extermination.

Helldivers 2 does an amazing job honoring the universe of Starship Troopers. The attention to detail and essence of the source material are top-notch.
